NEUHAUS + UCNLearn

Are you using Neuhaus Education Center’s Basic Language Skills curriculum for dyslexia therapy?

Neuhaus is excited to announce a new Basic Language Skills (BLS) web app in collaboration with UCNLearn to enhance dyslexia therapy services and communications. Advancements in technology and AI now enable the aggregation of data from dyslexia therapy into an intuitive interface, helping practitioners quickly analyze results, identify trends, and share insights with stakeholders.

Three Modules Currently Available:

Mastery Checks Module

The app allows practitioners to seamlessly input and track Mastery Check data for all 9 Mastery Checks in BLS through an online system. The app analyzes student data to track the progress of the student skill-by-skill, identifying gaps, and enhancing the practitioner’s ability to be diagnostic and prescriptive.

Fluency Module

The app allows students to record their BLS fluency practices on their device so that practitioners have options to analyze in real-time, after the lesson, or with AI. Feedback and progress can be directly shared with students through the app. Analytics track student data to facilitate identification of trends over time.

Progress Reports Module

The app automatically generates a downloadable pdf progress report for each student that is visually appealing, easy-to-read, and in compliance with HB 3928. The report translates information to be easily understood by stakeholders with various levels of familiarity with dyslexia therapy.

Mastery Checks Module

Key Features:

  • Input Mastery Check data easily into the app.
  • Auto-generate analyses for individual concepts and across Mastery Checks to analyze trends.
  • Generate reports with easy-to-read visuals for communicating with stakeholders.
  • “The ability to track Mastery Checks online and immediately have results analyzed maximized my time so that I can focus on applying the results to instructional decisions for my students. This is truly a game-changer.” Houston-area Dyslexia Therapist

Fluency Module

Key Features:

  • Practitioners assign fluency practices from the library of 300+ Reading Fluency activities available in the BLS curriculum through Reading Practices.

  • An analytics progress page aggregates all fluency data collected via easy-to-read visuals.
  • “The recording feature allowed me to listen to each student individually to determine what each really needed in service of instructional decisions. Students were also highly motivated by seeing the visual graph of their growth!”  Nacogdoches-area Public School Dyslexia Therapist

Progress Reports Module

Key Features:

  • Practitioners can generate automatic progress reports including new concepts introduced, skill progress overview, and have a customized area to input notes.
  • Reports can be translated into Spanish.
  • “Super handy to have this information pre-loaded, and then I can strategically use my time towards providing key interpretations and next steps for each child instead of manually entering a summary of the work completed. It’s also very versatile – can be used for reports to families or to schools.” Houston-area Dyslexia Therapist

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

Yes, this tool will simply enhance a practitioner’s ability to be diagnostic and prescriptive. Every feature of the application allows for a practitioner to manually override and input notes and observations. The practitioner also has sole discretion of what the student can see by what they assign.

Not at this time, but we hope to in the future because we recognize what a powerful resource this is to support practitioners in service of their students! Stay tuned and click here to share which curricula you would like to see supported next via this survey!
