How We Strengthen Literacy
We take a comprehensive approach to literacy by supporting learners, equipping educators, and shaping the systems around them. Our work ensures more children and adults gain the skills they need to read, succeed, and thrive.
Intervene
We work directly with children and adults who struggle to read through diagnostic and therapeutic services, supplemental programs, and the Neuhaus Dyslexia Clinic, expanding access through a sliding scale Fellowship Program.
Train
We equip educators and therapists through certification pathways, professional development, coaching, and curriculum grounded in the Science of Reading.
Inform
We work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure systems are designed for strong literacy outcomes. By aligning policy, practice, and decision-making, we help create conditions where more learners can succeed.

Voices from the Community
Deanna Perdue – Educator and OCPDS Participant
My experience with the Neuhaus certification pathway has transformed my teaching practice, giving me the tools to effectively support Emergent Bilinguals and students with dyslexia across all literacy and communication skills. This program is invaluable for educators because it provides a research-based, comprehensive approach that strengthens instruction, deepens understanding of the Reading Rope, and equips teachers to make a meaningful impact in every classroom.
Christina, Aiden’s Mom – FSO Scholarship Participant
“The best thing was the day he was reading a description of a toy he wanted and when he finished, he asked me if I noticed how much better he was able to read and how he didn’t stumble over all the words or skip them. That was the moment I realize not only the impact the tutoring had on his ability to read, but also the impact on his self-esteem.”
Mom of an Adult Literacy Student
My 23-year-old daughter just completed a year of adult literacy classes at Neuhaus. It took years to get her to accept help, and it has truly been life changing. She believed she was ‘broken’ and that nothing would help. The confidence she has gained has allowed her to seek employment with a nonprofit working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She now believes that she will be able to set and pursue goals after years of having no belief that she would be able to accomplish anything. Thank you for the work you are doing. It has transformed her personality, her outlook, and her life. Don’t ever underestimate the good being done at Neuhaus. We truly had nowhere else to go.
