Key Features of SRS Standard and Accelerated, Volume 1

Systematic and Explicit Instruction

Each manual follows a sequential, systematic order of introduction. Concepts build upon each other. Easier concepts are taught first and then progress to more complex concepts.

Scripted Lessons

To provide clear guidance for instructors, lessons 1-20 in SRS Standard Pace and SRS Accelerated Pace are fully scripted. Each lesson provides step-by-step instructions, prepared text for instructional time, and sample student answers.

Cumulative Review and Practice

Lessons are designed to reinforce concepts through repeated practice and review, ensuring mastery before progressing to new topics.

Why Choose SRS?

Yes, if instructional time is limited, lessons can be divided, but content should always follow the given sequence for optimal student progress.

The professional development provides information regarding assessment and how to use the tools embedded in the curriculum to guide instruction. Additionally, the program includes a placement screener to help determine whether a student should be placed in the Standard or Accelerated pace.

Ideally, students should receive intervention 5 days a week, with a minimum of 3-4 days.

The professional development covers how to teach Volume 1 for two paces. A Standard (regular) pace and an Accelerated pace.
