Scientific Spelling Part 2

In Scientific Spelling Part 2, participants learn the history of English orthography, advance their skills in analyzing spelling errors, and learn how to measure spelling for progress, not for errors. Building on the word-analysis skills from Scientific Spelling, participants dig into where common English spelling patterns come from and practice more nuanced error analysis on real student writing samples.

Audience: Grades 2–8 teachers who have completed Scientific Spelling.

Details: Runs 3 hours, on-demand.

Participants leave with tools for tracking spelling growth through accuracy rather than achievement, building directly on the error-analysis skills introduced in Scientific Spelling.

Prerequisite: Scientific Spelling.
