Language Enrichment

In Language Enrichment (LE), participants learn a daily structured literacy instructional framework for explicitly and systematically teaching decoding and word identification strategies so students become accurate, automatic, fluent readers with deep comprehension. Instruction covers decoding and encoding concepts, including reliable reading and spelling patterns; building fluency and accuracy in connected text; building oral language and world knowledge; and developing listening and reading comprehension strategies.

Audience: Grades 1–3 teachers; the framework may also be appropriate for students outside that range who need intervention or remediation.

Details: Runs 30 hours over 5 days, available in person, live virtual, or on-demand. Includes Oral Language and Listening Comprehension (OLLC) and Scientific Spelling (SS).

Participants leave with a scope and sequence for implementing a daily 30–45 minute lesson routine; can also be used as supplemental instruction alongside a core reading program.
