Basic Language Skills Preview Session
Basic Language Skills (BLS) is a comprehensive and intensive Structured Literacy curriculum and the core curriculum of the Dyslexia Specialist Preparation Program (DSPP). Upon completion of all DSPP requisites, including coursework, practicums, and documented teaching hours, participants are eligible to take the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) Competency Exam for Multisensory Structured Language Education at the Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) level.
This Preview Session is an informal meeting to introduce Basic Language Skills and the DSPP pathway to certification. It lasts about 90 minutes, is held in the afternoon (4-5:30), and takes place on Zoom, so you can participate from home or school using the Zoom Meeting connection Neuhaus provides.
Preview session participation and acceptance are required before registration in the Basic Language Skills Introduction class.
