
Basic Language Skills: Introduction (Virtual)

Basic Language Skills (BLS) is a comprehensive and intensive Structured Literacy curriculum that is the core curriculum of the Dyslexia Specialist Preparation Program (DSPP). Upon completion of all the DSPP requisites including coursework, practicums, and documented teaching hours, you are eligible to take the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) Competency Exam for Multisensory Structured Language Education at the Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) or Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) level.

Preview session participation and acceptance are required before registration in the Basic Language Skills Introduction class.
This session is an informal meeting to discuss Basic Language Skills. The Preview Sessions last about 90 minutes and are held in the afternoons, 4-5:30. The sessions take place on Zoom, and you can participate from home or school via a Zoom Meeting Internet Connection that Neuhaus provides.
