Legacy of Literacy
Neuhaus Education Center launched a group in 2007 to ensure that the next generation of teachers would receive the instruction they needed to teach all students how to read. The Legacy of Literacy Society is comprised of generous individuals who have committed to the work of Neuhaus Education Center through thoughtful estate planning. By joining, members are allowing a planned gift to do what they care about most - create the readers of tomorrow.
Each year, more than 2,300 teachers attend Neuhaus professional development classes to find better ways to create successful readers. These teachers may work in Pre-K or Kindergarten classrooms, where students may feel doors open when they read their first sentence. These teachers may work in special education classrooms and will need to know how to address the needs of each of their students with learning differences. These teachers may be working four times a week with a dyslexic student needing intensive reading therapy, giving them the tools and self-esteem needed to become accomplished learners.
Legacy of Literacy Society members realize that each teacher needs to be reached to create the readers of tomorrow. To join or find out more about the Legacy of Literacy Society, please call 713.664.7676 or email us.
