Marybeth Flachbart, Ed.D.
Before joining Neuhaus Education Center in September, 2011, Marybeth Flachbart served as Deputy Superintendent of Student Achievement and School Improvement at the Idaho State Department of Education. Dr. Flachbart also taught at Boise State University and directed Idaho’s Reading First Program.
When Dr. Flachbart implemented statewide reading academies for Kindergarten, first-, second-, and third-grade teachers in Idaho, she utilized Neuhaus methodologies and materials. Subsequently, student achievement rose steadily, surpassing all benchmarks established by the state legislature.
Previously, she taught in the Houston and Deer Park Independent School Districts, where her classroom experience included ten years of both general and special education.
From 1998-2000, Dr. Flachbart was a member of the teaching staff at Neuhaus Education Center, where she provided professional development to teachers on the best research-based solutions for dyslexia and related language and reading disorders.
Dr. Flachbart is a certified Academic Language Therapist and a Dyslexia Specialist. She holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Boise State University, a master’s degree in special education from Fairfield University, and a bachelor’s degree from Marymount Manhattan.
